Looking for things to do with your kids? Its always tough to try and find places when you are new to the area and bored at home with your kiddos. Trust me, been there! Whether you are in Moraga Orinda or Lafayette the nice part is all these places are within close proximity. Here's my personal favorites:
1.) Moraga Commons Park- This is my first favorite because it doesn't matter your age you can find something to do. They have 2 parks, a splash pad, beach volleyball (YES I SAID IT), a skatepark, basketball courts, bocce, an amphitheater, tons of grass, a designated BBQ area, and access to the Lafayette Moraga Trail. Throw a birthday party here or come to one of the many events the parks department holds, and you will LOVE it.
2.) Lafayette Reservoir- If you haven't been you are missing out! If you have littles like me, there's a park to play, then you can pack them up in the stroller and head out to the 2.7 mile loop around the reservoir for a great workout. Towards the end of the walk you can take out paddle boats and even fish! Summer time is my favorite time to go, lots of sun, birds chirping and families all over!
3.) Canyon Club Brewery- I know what you're thinking...a brewery? For kids? Hear me out- They have GREAT IPA'S, hard ciders, wine, and lemonade!! Not just that, their menu is amazing (fish tacos are my go-to). You can sit outside under the olive trees and watch the Warriors win, listen to live entertainment and the best part....Your kids can run wild and free! It's my ALL TIME favorite spot on Friday nights. If you are wanting to try it make sure you get there early :)
4.) Briones Regional Park- They have ARCHERY!! So much fun! Kids love it, adults love it. Not just that Briones has amazing trails with the best views. You will most likely run into the grazing cows living their best life so don't be alarmed. Like any park, there's places for picnics and bbq's but what makes Briones even more special is they offer group camping! Pitch a tent and become one with nature this summer!
5.) Lafayette Moraga Regional Trail- One of my weekend favorites here. I get my son's balance bike and we cruise the trail. Nicely paved, slightly hilly in some parts but such a great walk. Depending on where you are on this 7.65 mile trail you will see waterfalls, chickens, or maybe even someone you know!
These are my personal top places. Let me know what you think once you try and if i'm missing any special gem please, let me know!
